Build a standout website without spending hundreds of dollars (or crying from frustration)

You absolutely can. If you're the type who loves setting aside a few days to explore a new tool, doesn't need external accountability to follow through, and enjoys tinkering with tech until you figure it all out — go for it.

Gather the following items:

• A Lovable account (free or paid — doesn't matter)
• Any work samples you want to include
• Any testimonials you want to include
• Your logo files, if you have them
• Website copy, if you have it. (Lovable will generate placeholder copy, which is fine for during the workshop, but you will need to edit it after.)

👉 The more branded materials you bring, the more unique (and un-generic) your website will be.

Nope. If you do have copy, that's amazing. (And if you're a copywriter, just do it already!!)

But if you don't, we've got you covered:

During the workshop, we'll fill out the Lovable Prompt Builder together, which gives Lovable a strong starting point even if you come in empty-handed.

From the robust prompt we'll generate, Lovable will be able to create decent, mostly accurate copy. We recommend going over all the copy and ensuring it  a) is accurate (Lovable likes to inflate things)   b) sounds like you.

Malky will show you how to create a one-page website. You choose what goes on the page.

This is not an advanced class. If you're already deep in Lovable and building confidently, you probably won't learn a ton here.

What you will get: a dedicated 90-minute slot to actually sit down and build the site you've been meaning to build — with a room full of people doing the same thing alongside you. Sometimes accountability is worth more than new information.

You'll also walk away with our Lovable Prompt Builder (for life!), which tends to get stronger results than a start-from-scratch prompt — even if you've used Lovable before. The structured input process pulls out details most people skip over, which shows up in the quality of your first draft.

So if you know Lovable but still don't have a site you're proud of — this is probably still worth your time.

No. You can create a fully functional site on Lovable's free plan.

Two things worth knowing:

If you spend a lot of time refining during or after the workshop, you may hit the free plan's credit limit. You'll just need to wait before continuing to edit.

If you want your site on a custom domain (like Rachelcopywriter.com instead of Rachel-copywriter.lovable.app), you'll need Lovable's paid plan at $23-$25 a month.

Can I get around that and still use a custom domain?

Technically yes — you can export your site code and host it yourself using tools like Vercel and Supabase. It's cheaper on paper. But it requires setup time and ongoing maintenance.

For most people (read: anyone who doesn't know what Vercel and Supabase are 😅), $23/month is the smarter route. When you host through Lovable, it's seamless and easy to manage.

SEO isn't the main focus of this workshop — we're here to get your site built and live.

The short answer on Lovable and SEO: it can be SEO-friendly, but you do need to set up the basics yourself after the workshop (think: custom domain, page title, meta description, and a sitemap — all of which Lovable can generate for you).

For a portfolio or service site like what we're building, that's more than enough — most of your traffic will come from direct links, referrals, and social anyway. If, on the other hand, your business model depends on ranking in Google, a traditional CMS like WordPress or Webflow may be a better long-term fit.
